Wyndham has a secret weapon when it comes to booking accommodations for large families on points. That secret weapon is Vacasa – a vacation rentals company. And the fact that you can book Vacasa properties with Wyndham points means families looking for a little more space have a lot more options.

Vacasa is a vacation rental booking site that happens to have a partnership with Wyndham – meaning your Wyndham points are good for stays at Vacasa properties. Vacasa properties are primarily found in the USA but also service Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Currently, Vacasa is in the process of merging with Casago – another vacation rental platform (dare I see Vacasago in the future??). What this means for the ability to book Vacasa properties with Wyndham points is unclear at this point during summer 2025. I like to think the relationship between Wydnham and Vacasa will still exist since Vacasa is the larger of the two vacation rental companies.
Vacasa properties follow a fixed award chart by bedroom. Each bedroom must be less than $250 per night, inclusive of taxes and fees. Here’s the good news – Vacasa does not pass along those pesky surcharges such as taxes or rental cleaning fees. So you will truly pay $0!
1 Bedroom | $250 per night including all taxes and fees | 15K points per night |
2 Bedroom | $500 per night including all taxes and fees | 30K points per night |
It’s worth it to note that, when I called Wyndham, they stated that you cannot continue up the ladder – meaning you cannot book 3 BR properties for 45K points and so on.
To search for properties, you’ll want to head to Vacasa’s website. From here you can search by location, date and occupancy. When your search results populate, you can further filter by number of bedrooms.
Let’s look at a few examples:
1 Bedroom for 7 days: Must be under $250 per night including taxes and fees.
$250 X 7 Days = $1750 Maximum price
I searched for a one bedroom condo in Hawaii for 7 days and filtered to one bedroom. The initial search results will show you the cost for your entire stay but before taxes/fees. You’ll have to do a little trial and error to find the properties that will fit within the budget constraints. I assume both of the properties shown below will come in around my $1750 cut off – but you’ll have to go all the way to the booking screen to see the final price.
I chose Kailua Village Resort to complete a mock booking. Upon heading to the booking screen (shown below), it came up at $1692 for 7 nights – meaning it falls within the $250 “all in” threshold. This property should be bookable with Wyndham points.
2 Bedroom for 7 days: $500 per night including taxes and fees
$500 x 7 days = $3500 maximum price
I searched for a two bedroom on Maui for one week in February. I narrowed my filters down to only 2 bedroom properties and began searching for properties a few hundred under my $3500 threshold.
Two potential properties are listed above. I chose Hololani B702 due to the ocean view. Once again, click through to the final booking screen to ensure the total is under $3500. Note that once again, the property comes in under the maximum dollar amount. You should be able to book this property!
Create a Wyndham Rewards loyalty account if you don’t already have one. Make sure you have the property number listed for the property you want to book.
Call Wyndham at 1-800-441-1034. You’ll want to confirm availability and be ready to book.
If you have the total number of points needed in your Wyndham account, you’re good to go! If you don’t have points, be ready to transfer points from either your Capital One miles or Citi ThankYou points. They should transfer instantly.
In my case, I phoned Wyndham, confirmed availability and total number of points I needed. I then transferred my points from Capital One to Wyndham while on the phone with the agent. My points appeared instantly and I was able to continue the booking process.
PRO TIP: Have a few backup listings and their property numbers ready to go when you call. You never know when a property will be unavailable for booking.
The phone call took about 15 minutes and the agent mentioned I should receive my confirmation emails within 48 hours. However, I received my confirmation email within 30 minutes of hanging up. My booking showed up immediately in the Vacasa app. There I was able to sign my rental agreement and view other documents.
Keep in mind, the cancellation policy for Vacasa properties is 30 days. If you cancel prior to 30 days, your points will be fully refunded. Cancellations within the 30 day window will result in forfeiting of points.

Vacasa can be a lucrative way to have some extra space while still using your points for your stay! A full kitchen means keeping grocery costs down. Extra space is much appreciated whether you’re traveling with a large family, an infant or just traveling with another couple. Wyndham’s partnership with Vacasa gives you access to just that. I’m off to book another Vacasa property!
