If you’ve never heard of Rove Miles, well, you’re not alone. It’s one of the newest players in the points world – launched in 2025 – and it has flown under the points and miles radar.
Here’s the short version: Rove is a free loyalty program that lets you earn transferable miles on hotel bookings, flight purchases, and online shopping. WITHOUT needing a specific credit card. It’s continued to grow in popularity thanks to the addition of new transfer partners. And there’s one feature surprise feature that I think you’ll like – more on that later.
Let’s walk through it, shall we?
Rove is trying to be something new in the points space. It’s like a mash up of everything we often use in the points and miles hobby:
Sounds similar to Chase or American Express or the other popular banks in this hobby? Hang with me.
What makes Rove Different? It doesn’t require a specific credit card. Unlike Chase Ultimate Rewardsยฎ or American Express Membership Rewardsยฎ (which are backed by a banking platform) Rove doesn’t require a specific credit card to earn miles. You can pay with any card โ even a debit card โ and still earn Rove miles.
Is Rove Legit? Yes. Rove was founded in 2023 and is backed the same startup accelerator that was behind Airbnb. That said, it is still a young company. I personally treat younger, newer additions to the points and miles space slightly more cautiously. I won’t keep points in there that I can’t ‘afford’ to lose.

Okay this is where it gets (really) interesting. Hotel bookings are where you can really beef up your Rove Miles stash. You have two options for hotel bookings.
Loyalty Eligible Rates: 5x-10x Rove miles per dollar on average, PLUS all your normal hotel benefits. The hotel charges your card directly (not Rove), so you keep your elite status perks, earn hotel loyalty points, get elite night credits, and earn bonus points on your hotel co-branded card if you have one. For example, paying for a loyalty eligible Hyatt stay with your World of Hyatt credit card earns you Rove miles AND 9x Hyatt points (5x base points per dollar plus 4x points for using your World of Hyatt Credit Card) for the same purchase.
Notice in the photo below, you can toggle on the button to show only properties that are loyalty benefit eligible. In the search results , it will confirm which program they are eligible for loyalty benefits – and associated credit card earnings!

Non-Loyalty Eligible Rates: 10x-25x Rove miles per dollar, sometimes even higher. You won’t get any loyalty benefits at these hotels. BUT they are great for independent, boutique hotels. I searched Cancun and found an all inclusive that earns 38x Rove Miles on the stay! If you’re going to book a cash stay, I’d say it’s worth it to look at Rove. Imagine earning 52,000 miles on your hotel stay!

๐ก Loyalty Eligible vs. Non-Loyalty: Don’t automatically assume loyalty eligible is better. Sometimes the non-loyalty rate earns 30x vs 8x for loyalty eligible rates. Those extra 22x points might be worth more than your elite benefits, especially if you don’t hold status with that chain. Do the math for your specific booking.
โจ NEW Next Level Info: As of June 2026, you can now PAY for a Loyalty Eligible stay using Rove Miles and still earn hotel loyalty points for the same booking. Rove makes the reservation on your behalf. The hotel sees it as a paid cash stay and credits your loyalty account accordingly. Example: use 18,000 Rove Miles to book a Courtyard Marriott and still earn 2,330+ Marriott Bonvoy points for the stay. This could be a lucrative way to use Rove Miles if you don’t have alternative plans for them. But keep reading for some Rove sweet spots.

You can book flights through Rove and earn miles on top of your normal airline miles. A few things to note:
In the screenshot below, you’ll notice I’m about to purchase a ticket and will earn just 617 Rove Miles on the purchase. I’ll probably skip using Rove for booking flights.

Rove’s shopping portal works like Rakuten โ click through before purchasing online at 13,000+ retailers and earn Rove miles on top of your credit card rewards. Just like other shopping portals, rates vary by merchant and day.
You can shop through the website as shown in the screenshot below or download the Chrome extension for your browser.
Rove states that it may take a LONG time to get paid out for your Rove shopping portal payouts. I’d get in the habit of taking screenshots of purchases and the current earn rates if I chose to use their shopping portal.

So what can you do with all these mysterious Rove Miles you’re collecting?
Use your miles to book flights or hotels directly on rove.com. Miles are typically worth 1.2-1.6 cents each this way. Occasionally more on hotel bookings.
This is likely where the real value is!
Keep in mind there is a MINIMUM transfer of 2,000 miles per transation.

Before we move on, it’s worth it to know that there’s actually a lot of overlap between Rove’s partners and those of other points currencies. This means you could pool together points from Rove among others to transfer into one loyalty program such as Flying Blue.
Check out this chart to see how Rove stacks up against other currencies:

Flying Blue: Europe Business Class + Monthly Promos
Air France/KLM Flying Blue is a great program for getting to and from Europe. They run monthly promo awards with discounts on select routes. Transfer Rove to Flying Blue and time it with a promo month for maximum value. Remember, Flying Blue also has a 25% discount for kids ages 2-11. Read more about the Flying Blue program here.
SAS EuroBonus: Europe Business Class Or North America Economy
A SkyTeam partner that doesn’t pass along high fuel surcharges. Fly to Europe (and even some parts of Africa) for ~60k one way in business class. SAS includes Central America in with North America meaning that you can get flights down to tropical destinations for just ~25k miles round trip in economy. That’s a pretty sweet deal.
Air Canada Aeroplan: Star Alliance Without Fuel Surcharges
Another program that doesn’t pass along hefty fuel surcharges – this time with Star Alliance operated flights. Air Canada is great for allowing free stopovers for just 5K miles. Air Canada’s use of zone based award pricing often means short haul flights are good bargains.
Accor Live Limitless: Flexible Hotel Discounts
This one flies under the radar alot. Rove transfers to Accor at 1.5:1, meaning 1,000 Rove miles becomes 1,500 Accor points. Every 1,000 Accor points is worth โฌ20 off your hotel bill. You don’t need to cover the full stay. use points in 1,000-point increments for a cash discount on any eligible booking. You can use points toward an eligible rate when booking online or tell the front desk you want to use reward points toward your folio at checkout.
After all this, I’d say yes – with some proper expectations. This isn’t going to be your primary points earning strategy. But it’s a nice way to supplement.
If you have a hotel that makes sense to book on the Rove platform- I’d be happy to do it and earn a nice chunk of miles. For me, this would likely be boutique hotels that aren’t part of a chain.
Transfer partners like Air Canada and Air France/KLM are popular and have the ability to transfer in points from all transferrable currencies. I love the idea of transferring in my Rove Miles to lessen the miles needed from other currencies.
I’d probably exercise caution with the shopping portal. Rove, themselves, states that it can take a LONG time to get paid out. I typically use Rakuten since they have a long track record of correct payouts and decent customer service.
That said, it’s free with no downside to joining. The 1,500-mile welcome bonus, free membership, and occasional earning opportunities make this a no-brainer to sign up for even if you only use it occasionally.
Do Miles Expire?
No. As long as your account stays open, your miles never expire.
Is there a Rove Credit card?
No. Rove is not associated with any bank or credit card. You don’t need to open any card or bank account to join or earn miles.
What is the minimum miles to transfer out to partner airlines/hotels?
2,000 Miles minimum.
Can I use coupons on the shopping portal
I’d be careful. If it’s a coupon or sale code shown directly on the website, it will likely qualify. Specific coupons not found directly on the website will likely make your purchase ineligible for miles.
When do my miles post?
Rove reports multiple timelines for miles to post:
Can I share Rove Miles?
Yes, you can now share your Rove Miles but you must contact Rove customer support online or in the app/account chat feature.
Keep in mind you can only send miles to other account holders three times per year and you can only receive miles three times per year.
I think this is a legitimate program to have in your points-earning toolkit. In their first year along, they now have 20 transfer partners and offer a unique ability to earn miles and loyalty benefits on eligible hotel stays. I’m excited to see what else Rove comes out with in the future.
That said, at this point, I see the primary (for me) being for those independent hotels where I don’t currently hold a cobranded credit card and I can earn a high points multiplier on the stay.
If you haven’t signed up for Rove yet, here’s the link to join and earn 1,500 bonus miles.
